WE WILL OPEN THE NEW PRIORITY QUEUE FOR 2025 LEARN-TO-SAIL CLASSES ON MARCH 31!

>> It is recommended that you create a Sailing Account sometime before registering on the Priority Queue.

The Priority Queue is for everyone planning to take one of these classes:
Learn-to-Sail Mid-Week 1-2-3
Sunday All-in-One
This DOES NOT register you for any class: it just sets your priority for getting into any class you sign up for later.
We will use the Priority Queue registration order to prioritize among those who sign up for a given class.

Experienced Sailor?
No need to join the Priority Queue. Just sign up for one of the weekly Intro for Experienced Sailors classes.

Are there any current restrictions on registering for sailing classes at MIT?
>> At the moment, everyone in the MIT Community who has an MIT Recreation/DAPER membership can register for sailing classes.
Current MIT Students are automatically eligible.
We do require that everyone going out in a boat be able to Swim sufficiently .
>> I was on the Priority Queue in 2024 (or earlier). Do I need to sign up again?
Yes. Each year we start fresh since most of those on last year's list have either taken a class or are no longer at MIT.
>> Class Stats: How is it looking for me to get into a class soon?
There will be limited availability in the Spring given many events going on (Sailing Team practices, PE classes, Regattas), but there will be expanded opportunities starting in June.
